About TYCA-SE

The Two-Year College English Association Southeast (TYCA-SE) is affiliated with the National Council Teachers of English (NCTE) and TYCA National. We are one of seven regional arms of TYCA. However, membership in TYCA-SE is separate from membership in NCTE or TYCA National.

We remain committed to our original purposes:

• To provide a framework for a variety of professional activities among the teachers of English in two-year colleges within Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
• To define and explore issues relevant to the improvement of the teaching of English in the region.
• To conduct an annual regional conference for teachers of English in two-year colleges.
• To disseminate materials containing reports, news items, etc., that are of special interest to teachers in the region.
• To encourage studies and research in the teaching of English in the two-year college.
• To serve as a regional voice for national issues addressed by National TYCA and, by extension, the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) and the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE).
